Bridges the gap between existing curriculums and state standards.

Blending Assessment with Instruction

CAL joined the Kansas State Department of Education and the Center for Educational Testing and Evaluation (CETE) to develop the Blending Assessment with Instruction Program (BAIP). BAIP is designed to bridge the gap between existing mathematics curriculums and the Kansas Assessments standards.

The BAIP is comprised of standards-based, online lesson plans in grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 as well as online student tutorials. Each lesson is tied to a specific indicator from the Kansas mathematics standards and has been reviewed by subject matter experts. In addition to the lesson plans, student tutorials are also designed as instructional resources. These tutorials provide assessments of student performance, offering teachers immediate feedback to gauge students' understanding of mathematics knowledge and skills.

Available free to Kansas schools beginning in Fall 2007, the BAIP gives teachers an invaluable resource to maximize student achievement.
